Trinidadian born Gail Ward is no stranger to change and taking risks. She approaches life, art and work as if it’s a novel. “My parents always said that life should read like a novel…no one wants to read just one chapter…make it interesting!” And interesting it has been indeed!
Gail's journey as a creative began with dance, a talent she honed at the Alvin Ailey American Dance Center in New York. Collaborating with like-minded artists, Gail showcased her work at venues like the DIA Arts Center, BAM, PS122, and the Laban/Bartenieff Institute of Movement Studies. Through these experiences, she not only developed her artistic skills but also honed her organizational and production abilities.
Gail was able to take her creativity and merge it with her well-oiled organizational skills to write a new chapter: Working in the music industry. She began by blending her creativity with her strong organizational skills. Starting in the A&R Department at Sony Music/Epic Records, where she worked on recording and developing artists such as Multiplatinum and Grammy Winners Celine Dion, Gloria Estefan, Sade, Living Colour, Pearl Jam, and Michael Jackson to name a few. This experience opened doors to roles in Artist Development at DV8/A&M Records, Artist and Production Management at Levin Management, and A&R Administration & Production Management at Artemis/V2 Records. Gail also excelled in producing and managing live and taped shows, special events, and tours for artists, collaborating with companies and venues like SIRIUSXM, BET, MTV, Madison Square Garden, The House of Blues, The Cutting Room and more.
When the tide of the music industry changed and evolved, Gail adapted by seeking new opportunities to expand her skills. A fortuitous encounter with an old friend and colleague led her to a new chapter: project managing high-profile domestic and international special events for Genesis Networks, a broadcast television company. Her work included events like the Beijing, London, and Vancouver Olympic Games, the World Cup, the US Open, Wimbledon, the Oscars, and the US Presidential Elections.
